random Wednesday: catching up wit' y'all

It's been a week of light posting here because our little Thanksgiving trip took a lot out of me. (That, and I've been bustin' my buns to finish my ornaments. I do believe they will be done and in the post tomorrow.) This will be a longish update, so get your reading specs on.

We had a great Thanksgiving, with visits to Menomonie (tasty food) and St. Paul (more tasty food and shopping). AJ and I even snuck out for a date (four whole hours kid-free and tasty food!) on Saturday thanks to his parents.

Our visit also included a stop at the Minnesota Zoo.

First we hustled through the crowds to watch the fish feeding, and got there just in time. During the fish feast, Alden walked up and down the ramp along the aquarium, completely oblivious to the diver and sharks and fishes floating mere inches away in the tank next to him.

After watching the fish feeding frenzy, we wandered into the rainforest exhibit. The path had a small, kids-only tunnel attached to it that overlooked a lagoon. Alden loved walking through the tunnel - so much so that at one point he came out and looked like this:

I was impressed with the amount of water features this place had all chock-full of fish and sharks and DOLPHINS!

The dolphins held Alden's attention for most of the show. I love that he knows what dolphins are now, and we can talk to him about the show and he REMEMBERS.

All told, our Thanksgiving trip went well, and I am thankful for it!
