I'm a vegetarian grammarian

I'm trying to type this post around one of our cow cats. Moo Moo thinks it's an excellent idea to park his hinder quarters right between my hands. Ah, life with felines...

So, I was wondering today what the French call vegetarians. Other than sacrilegious, of course. (Just discovered they say, "végétarien.") Anyway, that led to thinking about learning a new language, which led to contemplating picking up my grammar book again.

I'm going to start a refresher course of sorts. I need to brush up on my editing skills because I will be applying for an editor and proofreading position with an online agency. The agency farms out editing and proofing jobs to those who qualify.

I believe this means I will spend the next few weeks reminding myself about passive voice, proofers marks and the like. Perhaps it will lead me to actually write again.

It's funny how I don't even think of this as writing. It isn't really. To me, it's just a way to get some words out into the world. I'd like to write poems again, for sure. And I wouldn't mind writing academic articles. I've actually been thinking about getting Masters Degree in nonfiction, if there is such a thing.

Either way, I'm back where I belong...playing with words.

And to think...I once was able to spar literally with the She Beest...taking the same English courses and what-not...did you know that I was one elective away from finishing my English minor at Northland? Ah, well...I guess I can always go back to school and see if I can do something with language or writing again...or, I could just eat a big pile of CROW when I am humbled by the musings of the She Beest.
