Still pregnant at 35 weeks and 4 days!
I can't believe I've made it this far after the pre-term labor, all the contractions and not taking my bedrest seriously at the beginning of this week. Actually, I'm hoping this kid hangs out in there for another two or three weeks so I can get some work done at home and at the Press. We'll see what the doc thinks on Monday.
Either way, I believe we are now prepared for the beestling's impending arrival (stuff-wise, that is). Claudia was kind enough to stop by Target on her trip to Duluth to pick up our car seat, some sheets and some cloth diapers. Thanks, dear!
Now, we just need to launder all this stuff (which will happen tomorrow), finish packing the baby's bag and put everything in the car. We won't have any racing around to do once I go into labor, which is such a relief.
In other matters, I'm looking into grad school in Madison. While I won't be able to go right away, I think two years will be the most I'll wait to go. The idea has stuck with me ever since I found the arts administration MBA at the Bolz Center. I still remember the wonderful time I had working at the New York Mills Regional Cultural Center when we lived in Minnesota. Other than my verbally abusive boss, the job suited me perfectly - art AND business.
Plus, I realized the degree could give me greater flexibility. I could open my own nonprofit arts center here in Ashland, I could move somewhere else that has a thriving arts community to work in an art center (current choices include Seattle/Tacoma, WA - somewhere in Nova Scotia - Vancouver), or I could start an agency to help artists make a living without fussing over balance sheets and brochures.
All in all, I'm feeling good about where I'm at in the world. Now, if I could just take some time to write something other than my blog...lol!
