random Wednesday: trees
I forgot to bring my camera with me for my trip into town, so you get trees.
These birch trees are in the northwest corner of our property. I love them. The light always has something to say against their bark, and the foliage skirting their trunks always changes from a vibrant swirl of greens and reds in summer to a melange of rust and wheat in fall.
I have never particularly liked birch trees. I'm more of an oak and maple kind of gal. But these ones are growing on me (so to speak). I love their chartreuse buds in spring and their oval green leaves in summer. Then, they light up with the yellow glow of the sun in fall and their naked white beauty matches the snow in winter.
I may be a birch tree convert.

I am plodding along on my ornaments. I have my fabric (neckties) picked out and coordinated. Now I just need to figure out whether I'm going to stuff them or leave them flat. I'm leaning towards flat with embroidered edges. Quick, easy, but still purdy. I'll reveal a sample of the final product on Friday or Saturday.

Heya sweetie,
Nice photo, and I think I like the new design. I know, old news, right? But after giving it a while and looking at it in a variety of moods, I think it's really nice, sparse, and supports your writing and photography well.
Love,
-aj
