Almost every Saturday we get up, throw on whatever clothes are handy and run out the door in the general direction of town. Once in Ashland, we head on over to the Golden Glow Cafe for breakfast.

It's not the greatest food, but everyone there knows us. No one minds one bit that Alden will run up to their booth to give a smile and a big "Hi!" He's allowed to cruise the aisles between booths and tables; to hop from stool to stool at the counter; to flirt mercilessly with the waitresses and anyone else who looks his way.

Our regular waitress, Mary, always has coffee and water ready for us when she comes to our table. Most days she can even tell us what we want to eat before we even open our mouths to tell her.
